Create a new section
Synopsis¶
Create a new section in a course.
Examples:
canvas sections create --course-id 123 --name "Section A"
canvas sections create --course-id 123 --name "Section B" --sis-section-id "SIS123"
canvas sections create --course-id 123 --name "Section C" --start-at "2024-01-15" --end-at "2024-05-15" --restrict-dates
Options¶
--course-id int Course ID (required)
--end-at string Section end date (ISO 8601)

--integration-id string Integration ID
--name string Section name (required)
--restrict-dates Restrict enrollments to section dates
--sis-section-id string SIS section ID
--start-at string Section start date (ISO 8601)

--as-user int Masquerade as another user (admin feature, requires permission)
--columns strings Select specific columns to display (comma-separated)
--config string config file (default is $HOME/.canvas-cli/config.yaml)
--dry-run Print curl commands instead of executing requests
--filter string Filter results by text (case-insensitive substring match)
